Laura Loves Reworked Vintage

I love working creatively and love turning items of clothing into different items.  Over the last few weeks I have been working on new ranges perfect for the Summer.  I have been customising and shortening vintage dresses, working on a new range of t-shirts and vests and most recently I have been customising vintage shirts which I have just added to my ASOS Marketplace.

Laura Loves ASOS Marketplace

Over the last few weeks I have been working on organising my vintage stock and getting an ASOS Marketplace up and running and have spent most of the weekend in the sunshine taking pictures and getting them online.

Tartan Skirt

Love the blue colour and print on this skirt.

This skirt reminds me of Marilyn Monroe

Floral print - one of my favourites

Think Pink!

This maxi reminds me of Florence and the Machine

At the moment I am running a like and share competition on Facebook.  I am giving away one of my aztec bracelets and some of my favourite nail varnish colours from ELF. If you are on Facebook and fancy entering click the link above.

Laura Loves the Sunshine

Hi everyone hope you are all having a lovely time in the sunshine.  I have spent the last few days making new jewellery and taking photographs for my ASOS Marketplace.  I also managed to squeeze in a flying visit to Jersey.  I loved it there, I spent the day pottering around the shops and I picked up some fantastic vintage ribbon that I am going to use to make some limited edition bracelets.  Here are some pics from Jersey.

M.U.A Make Up Academy Make-Up

This afternoon I was browsing in the make-up section and stumbled upon the M.U.A make-up range they stock.  Superdrug currently have a fab 3 for 2 offer on all make-up in store and when I saw the items on sale for £1 each I thought why not!
Eyebrow Pencil, Eyeshadow Pots, M.U.A Make-up, Superdrug.

I love experimenting with make-up and I love having my make-up done professionally for special occasions, I recently had a MAC make-up lesson so I have become a bit more confident with applying make-up although liquid eyeliner is still a struggle!

I choose a eyebrow pencil in Brunette which is easy to apply and builds to a fairly dark colour to add definition, my eyebrows are very dark anyway so I will only use a little of this to add some definition.
L - Shade 20, R - Shade 19

I also selected five eyeshadows to add to my ever growing collection, I picked a mixture of colours to use to create a smokey eye effect and for day to day wear.  The eye shadows are quite easy to apply and loaded on the brushes easily.  I chose two matt colours, shades 19 and 20 perfect for the smokey eye look.

L - Shade 19, R - Shade 20

The three other shadows were from the Pearl range they are my favourite as they have a lovely shimmer and shine.

Back - Pearl Shade 1,  L - Pearl Shade 12,  R- Pearl Shade 11
I am really looking forward to testing these out properly this weekend, when I swatched the colours they applied easily and blended very well.

Pearl - Shade 1

As mentioned earlier all of the products were an amazing £1 and on offer on 3 for 2 so todays bundle only cost £4! I am going to go back this weekend to buy some more colours or maybe a palette which are priced at a very reasonable £4.  I am going to try some of the brighter colours in the range and possibly a lipstick or two too!

Have you tried anything from the M.U.A range? What are your thoughts?

Models Own - Ibiza Mix

After reading lots of reviews of the Hed Kandi range I decided to try and track some down, I was lucky enough to find it in my local Boots store although I chose the last bottle in the 'Ibiza Mix', the range has certainly proved to be a hit so far!  I thought the bottles were reasonably priced at £5 each or 2 for £8 so I picked up the 'Ibiza Mix' and 'Hedonist'.

Hed Kandi 'Ibiza Mix' Polish £5

The polishes are fantastic, they apply very easily and I love the colour and effect of both polishes.  I am going to wait to wear Hedonist on my holidays or if the sun decides to finally make an appearance for longer than an hour in the UK as it is very bright!  Over the last week I have teamed up another of my favourite polishes, Rimmel's 'Man Overboard' in a dark grey with the 'Ibiza Mix'.  Instead of wearing on all of my nails I decided to paint the ring finger on each hand with a few coats of 'Ibiza Mix' and leave the others as a solid colour.

Rimmel 'Man Overboard'

I have been really impressed with the staying power of both polishes, I have been wearing them for the last 4 days and they are still intact.  Here are some pictures.

What do you think?  Have you tried any of the Hed Kandi range?  Do you have any favourite nail polish reviews or looks?

I have also just ordered lots of pretty pastel colours from elf cosmetics which I will be giving away soon as part of a blog giveaway.  I would love it if you could spread the word with some of your followers.

Laura Loves .... Stamps

Over the last few weeks I have been lucky enough to find a number of fantastic sets of stamps and lately I have been busy building a brand new collection of jewellery.

I love making stamp jewellery and I especially love it when I come across a collection of postcards or vintage letters.  I love reading the stories of people's trips and messages to their loved ones.  Although I enjoy using technology I still make an effort to send mail such as handwritten letters and postcards.

I have uploaded a few picture of some of my new collections.  The first two are American stamps, I have been on the look out for stamps from America since my trip to New York.  The final one is the beginning of a new collection to celebrate all things British.  I am designing a whole new range of items to celebrate the Jubilee and The Olympics.

One of my favourite stamp necklaces - I love the bright and vibrant colours of the American flag on this one.
America Air Mail Stamp Necklace.

London Bus Stamp Necklace - I love this stamp, this one is a one off piece.

All of my new ranges can be viewed on my Facebook page and I am slowly uploading them to my website.
